First, I want to thank you! This note is not about money, it’s about gratitude and delivering results.

Real momentum comes from measurable results. “Proven results for ALL of us” is my campaign theme. It’s a commitment that guides how I govern, work and engage with the citizens I already serve.

After knocking on nearly 10,000 doors and calling more than 11,600 voters in the primary, the results are in: We currently lead a crowded field of opponents by nearly 12 points. The latest ballot count shows that our campaign has real momentum heading into the general election. We hope these gains continue. We have you to thank for these results.

Voters heard our message: competence matters. People want a candidate with proven experience who can deliver results for ALL of us. People care about protecting and creating family-wage jobs, safeguarding women’s reproductive rights and access to health care, and ensuring affordable access to higher education for children and working families.

I’ve lived in this district for 18 years. I know people want our environment and quality of life to stay strong for future generations. I have dedicated my career to building strong communities for all citizens: securing funding for students and faculty at the University of Washington; assisting minority- and women-owned small business owners; holding the Port of Seattle accountable to taxpayers and environmental protections.

Your broad-based support for our campaign is growing. Your vote reflects the progressive values of the district and the public’s trust in tested experience and proven results. That’s why our campaign outpaced six other candidates in this race. Voters want to send a state lawmaker to Olympia who will tackle the toughest issues to translate your values into reality. That’s why our campaign earned the highest endorsements and ratings from independent observers like The Seattle Times, Queen Anne and Magnolia News, The Municipal League of King County, The National Women’s Political Caucus of Washington and local Democrats. Those observers and stakeholders recognize the strongest candidate.

The stakes in this election are high. The decisions we make in the next few years will dramatically affect our children, our working lives and our retirements. Please consider asking your friends and family to join our campaign. Together we will win in November!

I am grateful for your vote in this primary. I would be honored to have your vote in November.
Warmest wishes,
Gael
