SEATTLE – Gael Tarleton announced today that supporters of her defeated opponents and key elected officials are flocking to her winning campaign.

“The momentum of our campaign continues to grow after our primary victory,” Tarleton said. “I am thrilled to earn the endorsements of elected officials, local citizens, and education and community leaders who previously supported my opponents Brett Phillips and Sahar Fathi.”

Former Phillips’ supporters endorsing Tarleton include King County Assessor Lloyd Hara (long-time 36th District resident) and former Seattle City Councilmembers Jan Drago and Peter Steinbrueck. Former Fathi supporters include four of her closest advisors Monisha Harrell, Al Garman, Yusuf Cabdi and Crystal Fincher.

Tarleton already received the early endorsement of State Rep. Mary Lou Dickerson, D-36th, who is retiring this fall after 18 years of public service in the Washington House of Representatives, Position #2.

State Sen. Karen Keiser, D-33rd, and other influential leaders now back Tarleton who defeated six candidates in the August 7th primary election.

“Olympia needs strong lawmakers with proven experience to address jobs, education, health care, human services, the environment and our budget,” said Keiser, former chair of the Senate Democratic Campaign Committee. “Gael Tarleton is not just the strongest candidate running in the 36th District, she is one of the strongest legislative candidates running in the state of Washington. Olympia needs her leadership and ideas.”

Tarleton also has won the endorsement of former Washington State Democratic Party Chair Paul Berendt. Rounding out Tarleton’s solid slate of top endorsements are: 36th District e-board members and PCOs James Apa and Jen Bertelsen; former State Rep. Velma Veloria; Seattle School Board Directors Marty McLaren and Harium Martin-Morris; environmental leaders Keith Scully, Michael Lufkin, and Bruce Agnew; and 37th District Democrats’ chair Michael Wolfe, Tarleton’s one-time opponent for the Port Commission.
